D. NEWS GROUP

Definition

1. A newsgroup is an Internet site or platform where people can put information and opinions about a particular subject so they can be read by everyone who looks at the site.

*Conversation in news group is done through simple text messages.

*In Newsgroup, it is not a requirement for all group members to be active online before conversation can take place.

* Active members can post to the group whiles others are offline.

* Offline members who join the group later can also read the contents of the messages and respond appropriately. 

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CHAT ROOM AND NEWSGROUP

CHATROOMS NEWSGROUP
In a chat room, the persons involved must be all active online for communication to continue. In a Newsgroup, some group members may be offline while conversation can still go on.
The people involved can discuss any and as many topics they want. The group members discuss a particular topic agreed to talk about.
It usually involves two persons. It normally involves two or more people.
